Disneyland Railroad to Close for Refurbishment in Early 2025

Eric Morton

Fans of the Disneyland Railroad may want to start making plans to visit within the next few weeks, as the attraction will be closing in early 2025 to facilitate repairs and maintenance leading up to Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration.

According to Scott Gustin, the Disneyland Railroad will be closed starting January 13th, 2025, and will be closed through much of the Spring, with a goal of reopening before the celebration kicks off on May 16th, 2025.

A vibrant stage scene bursts with colorful animal figures and performers in costumes, set against a newly refurbished, illuminated building. As the Disneyland Railroad's whistles echo nearby, this enchanting 2025 spectacle captivates all who gather.

Disneyland Railroad Refurbishment

According to Cast Members, the railroad is set to undergo numerous updates, with multiple three-month refurbishments planned for the railroad in the next year and a half. During these refurbishments, the entire track will be replaced.

The railroad reopened back in October with new narration for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. More recently, Disney workers unveiled a glimpse into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure finale scene through the uncovered windows.

We recently spotted spray-painted markings on the ballast of the railroad, which confirmed that construction was not yet complete and that another refurbishment was imminent.

We spotted dozens of markings periodically alongside the track while checking on the window view of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

At the time, Cast Members told us that the closure was the first of four three-month refurbishments planned for the railroad over a year and a half. During these phases, the entire track is set to be replaced. The new markings confirm this report.
