Meet Santa, write your Christmas wish list, and take fun pictures at Fantasyland Theatre this holiday season during Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends. This new offering is available daily at the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland Park.
Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends
The Fantasyland Theatre is decorated for the holidays. The trees around the theatre are adorned with string lights.
The “Now Showing” sign at the entrance advertises Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends. The sign features snowflake and holly designs.
Another sign is on the ramp leading into the theater.
Troubadour Tavern, the quick-service food and beverage stand, is decorated. Peppermint and jingle bell decals are across the counters. Snowflake banners hang above the windows. A banner on the tower features a Mickey-shaped wreath.
There is also a temporary kiosk with holiday merchandise available for purchase.
A themed signpost points to the event’s various offerings. The arrow-shaped signs feature fake snow and resemble carved wood.
Garland is draped along the theater’s railings. A decoration on the stage’s proscenium depicts a Mickey wreath. The flooring in front of the stage resembles a stony pathway with beds of snow.
Guests can hang out in the bleachers to rest or wait for their families.
Character Meet and Greets
To the right side of the theatre is a cartoonish Christmas tree. It’s draped in silver tinsel, colorful baubles, and gift boxes. This is where guests can meet various characters.
We spotted Goofy and Pluto, dressed in their 2022 holiday costumes. They rotate with Clarabelle Cow.
Stage
On the stage are large wreaths and backdrops showing a snowy scene.
There is no regular stage performance like there was during Pixar Pals Playtime Party. A group of carolers will sometimes perform. There is also “Storytelling with Mrs. Claus” — which doesn’t actually feature Mrs. Claus. Neither of these have set showtimes.
Activities & Photo Ops
The space is surrounded by backdrops and fake trees, with various props perfect for photo ops. Some walls appear to be made of blocks of ice. A large snow bed has Goofy’s silhouette imprinted in its center, with skis and ski poles stuck around it.
One spot on the ground has a hopscotch grid.
Some decals on the floor prompt guests with different holiday-related questions and jokes:
- If you were one of Santa’s elves, what would your name be?
- What do you call an elf that can sing?
- What is your weirdest family holiday tradition?
Returning from Pixar Fest is a small arts and crafts area. There are small tables and chairs, perfect for kids. Baskets hold supplies and coloring pages.
Guests can write letters to Santa and drop them in this special mailbox. It also acts as a photo op, with a backdrop resembling envelopes and postcards covered in stamps.
Cast Members were encouraging guests to put their letters to Santa in the mailbox, so we assume they will actually be mailed (like letters dropped in the Main Street mailbox).
A sign advertises the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive supporting Toys for Tots. Guests can learn more at Disney.com/ToyDrive.
This photo op advertises “Mickey and the Very Many Christmases,” a new Disney Jr. and Disney+ special. Guests stand behind a giant wreath, in front of a Christmas tree backdrop. An elf character is pictured with a magical coin.
Another photo op resembles a large envelope featuring a cottage and Christmas tree, and several holiday-themed stamps. A snowman is on the left. “Holiday Fun with Santa & Friends” is across the top.
Santa Claus Meet and Greet
On the left side of the theatre is the Santa Claus meet and greet. Guests enter a wooden structure resembling Santa’s workshop, and take photos in front of a backdrop of snow-covered trees.
Santa sits on a bench where guests can join him to talk about their Christmas wishes.
Santa Claus will meet through December 24. After that, Santa Goofy will take over and appear through January 6.
