White is best known for starring in FX on Hulu series “The Bear,” for which he has won two Golden Globes and two Emmy Awards.

White joins Pedro Pascal, who plays the titular Mandalorian, and Sigourney Weaver in an undisclosed role.

Jabba the Hutt’s son is Rotta the Hutt, a prominent character in the animated film “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” In the movie, Rotta is an infant kidnapped by Count Dooku. Anakin and Ahsoka rescue the child and must return him to Jabba.

Jon Favreau directs “The Mandalorian & Grogu” from a screenplay he co-wrote with Dave Filoni. The film is a follow-up to the successful Disney+ series “The Mandalorian.” Filming wrapped this month and it will be in theaters on May 22, 2026. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will get a Mandalorian and Grogu adventure.
