Construction walls are down around the new entrance tapstiles at Disneyland. The ones at Disney California Adventure were revealed earlier this year.
About a year ago, in December 2023, permits were filed for some changes at the parks’ entrances, including new tapstiles. Work began in early 2024 with a first look at the Disney California Adventure tapstiles in March.
The changes got underway at Disneyland park in November 2024, and now those walls are down, giving guests a look at the new system.
The board atop the entrance is now digital. The current tapstiles still use an analog sytem, which means they have to be changed manually.
Also back in March, we participated in a facial recognition test trial at the tapstiles, and while Disneyland has not announced the use of such technology, the screen at each gate has a camera.
A design can be spotted on the clear gates, though at this time, there’s just filigree around the edges. It’s unclear if more will be added.
Disney California Adventure also now has the new digital signs. The clear gates also now have decorations of the Pan Pacific auditorium architecture, to match the park entrance.
