As 2024 comes to a close, Walt Disney World is preparing to introduce plenty of new things in the coming year. If you are planning to visit Walt Disney World next year, here are four things to look forward to:

‘Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away’ Nighttime Parade

Illustration of fictional characters, including a fairy godmother with a wand, two flying children, and an ice queen, set against a magical, starry background with castles in the distance.

If there’s one thing Disney fans love, it’s nighttime parades. Luckily, Disney will debut a brand new one in the summer of 2025: “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away.” The show was first announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August 2024.

While full details have not yet been released, the parade will feature classic and modern Disney characters from iconic films like “Peter Pan,” “Encanto,” “Moana,” Frozen,” and more! The Blue Fairy from “Pinocchio” ties the story of the parade together, weaving each tale into a story of “wonder, hope, and imagination.”

Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern

A cozy lounge where people sit at tables, chatting and enjoying drinks. Warm lighting from chandeliers and wall sconces creates an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean. Paintings and plants adorn the walls, adding charm to this magical setting.

Taking over the former footprint of The Pirates League, just outside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, a new Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern is set to open in late 2025.

First announced at Destination D23 in 2023, the tavern will be a “rambunctious watering hole” welcoming pirates big and small. The tavern is said to include lore and theming from the world of Pirates of the Caribbean, as well as references to the attraction’s history, such as the return of Peg-Leg Pete, AKA the Barker Bird, who invited guests to the Walt Disney World ride from 1973 to 2006.

‘Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After’ Stage Show

A purple and green theater mask floats amid shattered picture frames containing Disney villains in an eerie, smoke-filled room, evoking the chilling vibe of Disney's Villains Show.

A new Disney villains stage show will take over the Sunset Showcase Theater, which previously held the now-defunct Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy.

The show will feature iconic Disney baddies, including Captain Hook, Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, and more on “mirror” screens and then “breaking through the glass” into live-action performances. Casting for the performance roles has already begun and the show is set to debut in the summer of 2025.

Test Track Reimagining

Disney announced in September that Test Track in EPCOT would undergo a third reimagining since replacing World of Motion in the 1990s. This new take on the ride will combine the thrills of the current Test Track with inspirations from the original World of Motion attraction, even reverting to a General Motors sponsorship over just Chevrolet, a subsidiary of GM.

The current interaction of the ride closed in June and construction has slowly progressed on the updated attraction. Test Track 3.0 is expected to open in late 2025.

These are just a few of the many new things to look forward to in 2025 at Walt Disney World!
