Not even a full week after the closure of Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama, construction crews are hard at work demolishing several aspects of the land. During our latest trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we stopped near the construction walls to check on their progress.
Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama

The green construction walls line the entire area surrounding what used to be Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama.

If we zoom in closer, we can see that work has progressed even further on the demolition of TriceraTop Spin since our last update on the attraction.

All of the panels on the bottom half of the central spinner have now been removed. The teal panels on the upper half are all angled up, likely signifying their imminent removal as well. The Triceratops from atop the roof has also been removed now.

Moving over to the construction walls on the right, we con spot more progress being made on the removal of Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. We could see a lift parked near the entrance to the store.

Following the removal of the main store sign, crew members are working hard on removing all of the other signs on the roof.
The large “It’s Fossiliferous” sign running across the roof’s peak was removed. It was one of the last still standing.

We watched the crew prepare the sign for removal on January 17, as pictured above. As we watched, two crew members standing on a crane lift near the right were working on unscrewing the sign from its connection points. A third crew member in a separate lift was getting closer on the left side of the sign. On January 18, it was gone.

The image above shows Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures prior to the closure of this half of DinoLand U.S.A. Nearly all of the colorful signs lining the roof of the store have disappeared.
DinoLand U.S.A

The section of DinoLand U.S.A. that included Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama, Dinosaur Treasures, and Triceratop Spin closed on January 12, 2025. The rest of DinoLand U.S.A. remains open to guests at the moment. New rumors suggest the rest of DinoLand U.S.A., which includes DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, and the Boneyard playground, will close in January of 2026. The entire area will be re-themed to a village called Pueblo Esperanza in the Tropical Americas.
