Facade work continues at the former Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade in Frontierland as it’s transformed into the upcoming Disney Vacation Club Lounge.
Disney Vacation Club Lounge Construction
The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade was an opening day attraction at the park and closed permanently on June 23, 2024, to make way for the new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) lounge.
We boarded the Liberty Square Riverboat to get a better view of the construction progress.
Construction walls are still in place around the building. A brown box was sitting behind the walls and the side of it was opened. New windows with black frames have also been installed on the facade.
Yellow sheathing has also gone up on the right side of the structure. White construction materials sit in front of the yellow sheathing. The existing light poles behind the walls remain untouched.
The new DVC lounge will be called Disney Vacation Club McKim’s Mile House. It’s inspired by Disney legend Sam McKim who joined Disney in 1954.
According to Disney, the space will offer “a cozy and convenient retreat for Members to share stories and recharge during their day of fun.” Guests can enjoy “the rustic charm of a space inspired by the adventurous spirit of exploration from a bygone era.”
The lounge is set to open by summer 2025.
