Disney has revealed an official first look at a new costume and concept art for the upcoming Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away nighttime parade coming to Magic Kingdom Park.
Disney Starlight Princess Unit
In a new article on the official Disney Parks Blog, new concept art was revealed for a princess unit in the nighttime parade. The art depicts a new float themed to Disney animated royalty. Royal couples Aurora and Philip, Tiana and Naveen, Cinderella and Prince Charming, as well as Belle and the Beast dance together on a new shimmering float with a fountain in the center.
The blog also revealed the new parade will take inspiration from early Walt Disney Studios animated features. Specifically, the princess unit is being designed as a tribute to Mary Blair’s original concept artwork for the film “Cinderella.”
The post included photos of Cast Members working on a new light-up costume similar to Blair’s original dress design for Cinderella.
Disney added:
“When you look at the photo below of one of the prototype costume pieces for the parade, try to imagine it swirling down the parade route, layers of shimmering fabric picking up the glow of the surrounding floats, each light twinkling in perfect synchronization with the music.”
The article ends with a hint of an upcoming surprise regarding the new music for the parade, but says more details will be released soon.
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away
Disney Starlight is a new nighttime parade set to debut this summer in Magic Kingdom Park. Previous concept art for the parade has included a new float themed to “Encanto” and another float for “Moana.” Other films confirmed to have a presence in the new parade include “Frozen” and “Peter Pan.” Disney also released an image of the official logo for Disney Starlight.
An official date for the new parade has not been announced, but it is set to arrive at Magic Kingdom sometime in the summer of 2025.
