Radiator Springs Racers Closing Tomorrow for Extended Refurbishment

Radiator Springs Racers in Disney California Adventure will close tomorrow, August 18, 2025, for an extended refurbishment.

Radiator Springs Racers Refurbishment

Disney previously announced on several media outlets that that the Radiator Springs Racers attraction in Cars Land would close this summer for refurbishment. At that time, no specific reopening date was announced. However, some recent updates have confirmed that the closure will take place on Monday, August 18.

Refurbishment Timeline

Per the Disneyland website and the attraction’s operating schedule, Radiator Springs Racers will reopen on September 26, a little over a month after it closes on August 18. As is the case with most construction projects, this timeline is subject to change. According to @ScottGustin on X, the work will include track resurfacing, lighting enhancements, and audio/visual upgrades.

Previous Refurbishments

Radiator Springs Racers is closing for over a month due to refurbishment.

The last time Radiator Springs Racers closed for an extended refurbishment was in 2023. That refurbishment also lasted a few weeks because it involved repainting the rockwork and replacing the exterior track.

The area between Cars Land and Avengers Campus has been blocked by construction walls, as well. The area between the two lands is being prepped for the planned Avengers Campus expansion project. The walls blocking this path are expected to remain until next summer.

While the attraction is closed, you can always watch our ride POV below.
