Hall of Presidents at Magic Kingdom Now Closed for Trump Update, Disney Opts for Politically Neutral Signage

The Hall of Presidents has now closed at Magic Kingdom to prepare for the Donald Trump Audio-Animatronic to be added back to center stage.

Entrance to the Hall of Presidents, where a large sign proudly marks the spot. Visitors stroll leisurely in front of the esteemed brick building, all set against a beautiful blue sky.

The attraction is currently roped off with blue velvet stanchion rope blocking the entrance rather than construction walls.

A sign on the closed doors announces, "The Hall of Presidents is currently undergoing refurbishment," signaling essential maintenance work.

In addition to the ropes, an A-frame sign sits on the ground outside, and simply reads, “The Hall of Presidents is Closed for Refurbishment.”

In past years, signage related to the closure of The Hall of Presidents referenced the attraction “being prepared to welcome the new President.” It’s possible that Disney opted for more subdued signage to avoid complaints from guests.

With his re-election as President of the United States, Donald Trump will be the first to have their Audio-Animatronic moved back to center stage in The Hall of Presidents, should Disney keep to tradition with the attraction. The Joe Biden Audio-Animatronic will presumably be relocated to another location onstage.

The Hall of Presidents features Audio-Animatronics of all 45 of the nation’s presidents. Since its opening alongside Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971, the attraction has periodically added new animatronics as new presidents are inaugurated. Since Bill Clinton, each president has offered their voice to the show.

President Trump recorded the oath of office and a speech for the attraction during his first term in 2016. He is the second president to be elected for two non-consecutive terms, and the first since the attraction’s opening. It is unclear if Disney will simply re-use his previous recording or request that he make a new one. It’s also possible Disney could revamp the show entirely and remove the speaking role of the active president.

Trump’s initial addition to the show took 11 months to complete; Disney has not announced a reopening date for the attraction at this time.
