Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is celebrating the Chinese New Year from January 17 through February 16.
Chinese New Year at Hong Kong Disneyland
In honor of the Year of the Snake, the resort is decorated with snake-themed decor, lanterns, and more.
Beginning on the first day of the new year (January 29, 2025), guests may receive a Disney-themed red packet at the entrance of Hong Kong Disneyland while supplies last. The packet contains a gold chocolate coin, and dining and shopping vouchers.
Characters & Entertainment
The all-new “Mickey and Friends Year of the Snake Processional” features Goofy dressed as the God of Fortune alongside Mickey and other friends. Check out a video of the processional.
The Chinese New Year edition of “Mickey & Friends Street Celebration” has made its way to Main Street, U.S.A. with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends bringing the joys of the new year.
Mickey and Friends, and Duffy and Friends have donned seasonal outfits. At Fantasy Gardens, meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n Dale.
Duffy, ShellieMay, Gelatoni, StellaLou, CookieAnn, ‘Olu Mel, and Linabell meet in their Chinese New Year outfits at Duffy and Friends Play House.
Food & Beverage
At the Hong Kong Disneyland park, guests will find the exquisite Chinese Golden Pot at Main Street Corner Cafe and more food and beverage options.
At Ink and Plate in Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, a bountiful buffet is filled with seasonal favorites, including the restaurant’s signature Prime Mushroom Vegetables Prosperity Salad.
Enchanted Garden Restaurant in Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel has a buffet of Chinese delicacies from Roaster Boneless Suckling Pig with Glutinous Rice to Steamed Eel with Chinese Olives and Black Bean Sauce.
Merchandise
Merchandise includes Duffy and Friends seasonal items, Chip ‘n Dale plushes in playful snake outfits, red envelopes, Fai Chun (a Chinese tradition decoration), and candy boxes.
There are festive items featuring beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios films like “Winnie the Pooh,” Stitch from “Lilo and Stitch,” Lotso from “Toy Story 3,” and Red Panda Meilin from “Turning Red.”
Limited edition Chinese New Year medallions, featuring four special and highly detailed designs are available at Emporium.
Hotel Activities
The three Disney Hotels will celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Snake with a vibrant and joyful Chinese New Year Lion Dance performance on New Year’s Day.
Encourage joy and good fortune for the year ahead at a festive Mickey cookie decorating class.
Guests staying at the hotels can enjoy the Chip ‘n Dale Chinese New Year In-Room Themed Surprise package and a special treat that will make your stay even more memorable.
