Mickey Garlands Removed, Not Returning Due to Paint the Night Parade at Disneyland

Now that the 2024 holiday season is over, the Mickey garlands have been removed from Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland — and won’t return for the 2025 holidays.

During the holiday season at Disneyland, several strings of garland usually span Main Street, connecting the buildings. Each garland has a Mickey wreath in the center, golden bells, and baubles throughout.

Paint the Night Electrical Parade will be returning for the 70th anniversary of the park later this year. Due to the heights of some of the parade’s floats, the garlands won’t be able to return during its run.

The garlands also didn’t appear during Paint the Night Electrical Parade’s initial Disneyland run in 2015 and 2016. The garlands returned in 2017.

The 70th anniversary celebration will run from May 16 through the summer of 2026. Paint the Night returns on May 16 and will presumably run through the celebration’s end, although it could be extended. If the parade ends before the 2026 holidays, the Mickey garlands could return that year.

Magic Kingdom encountered a similar situation with the debut of Festival of Fantasy Parade in 2014. The Florida park also used to have Mickey garlands spanning Main Street during the holidays but they haven’t appeared since the parade’s premiere.
