As a part of their ongoing refurbishment, new themed scrims have been added at both Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland Park and Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure.

Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe

Amidst the blue skies and fluffy clouds, a building under renovation proudly showcases themed scrims resembling a rooftop. Scaffolding peeks above, while majestic trees frame each side, creating an enchanting atmosphere reminiscent of the charm of Elias's Jolly Holiday Bakery.

As we previously reported earlier this month, Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe has closed for a refurbishment. The entire building was wrapped in construction walls, and metal scaffolding was erected around the roof.

When we reported on January 8, the scaffolding was uncovered and remained visible to guests walking nearby. Now, all of the scaffolding for the ongoing refurbishment has been covered in some themed scrims. The past few weeks have been exceptionally windy at Disneyland Park, so it is likely that construction crew members waited to add the themed scrim until the weather became less blustery.

Sky is partly cloudy over a building under construction, wrapped in themed scrims and tarps. Its facade closely resembles the charming Elias edition of the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe.

The scrims are painted to look like the original facade of the building, with the windows and name of the cafe in their usual locations. Several of the bakery’s popular items, including the breakfast croissant, have been added to the next-door Refreshment Corner menu. Disney has not announced an anticipated length for the refurbishment or a reopening date.

Elias & Co.

A building under construction, with themed scrims and coverings, boasts a sign reading "Elias & Company." Trees and a street lamp grace the foreground under the clear sky, hinting at the charm of a future Jolly Holiday Bakery setting.

Over at Disney California Adventure, the winds have also calmed enough for scrims to be added to the scaffolding of Elias & Co. Construction work on the facade of the building also began in early January.

Like the bakery, the metal scaffolds in front of the building were left open during our previous visit. Now, the painted scrims match the usual look of the building and hide the ongoing repair work.

The building under renovation is cleverly draped in themed scrims that showcase stunning architectural details. With a blue sky and clouds as the perfect backdrop, people stroll nearby, adding life to this picturesque scene reminiscent of a day at Elias's Jolly Holiday Bakery.

Elias & Co. is still open for guests to enter and browse; only the facade is currently under construction. A hole between the yellow construction walls has been left open near the store’s front entrance for guests to enter and exit.
