Wall paneling has been installed and painted for the new Pirates of the Caribbean tavern at Magic Kingdom.

Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern Construction

The new lounge is next to the Adventureland attraction and Plaza Del Sol Caribe Bazaar. It takes over the space most recently occupied by the Pirates League, a makeover experience that closed five years ago. Construction walls are up outside the space and in the adjacent gift shop.

Over the construction walls, we can see progress on the new tavern, which was announced in September 2023. Steel frames went up for the walls in November 2024, followed by wall texture and shading in December. Since then, the walls have gotten a new layer of paint.

The walls are painted a light beige color. Some parts of the ceiling are not complete, with exposed sheathing and insulation. Plastic is wrapped around the ceiling’s themed beams to keep them protected during painting.

It’s the same story throughout the space, with freshly painted walls and no more steel framing or stone-like texturing visible.

Along one wall is various hardware that once supported props. This wall may also be cleaned up and repainted before the Pirates of the Caribbean tavern opens in late 2025.

A cozy, warmly lit pub reminiscent of Disney Parks magic, with patrons enjoying drinks at tables. Chandeliers and lamps illuminate the scene like a fairytale setting, while paintings adorn the walls. A waiter stands near the center, tending to guests in this enchanting ambience of 2025.

The tavern will expand the lore of Pirates of the Caribbean and reintroduce Peg-Leg Pete, a.k.a. the Barker Bird, who previously invited guests to the attraction from its 1973 opening until 2006.

‘Tis time to prepare yerselves for the swashbucklin’ world of adventure as all bandits and buccaneers-to-be are invited to join me jolly crew at a new Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern. Makin’ landfall in Adventureland in late 2025, this yonder lounge will welcome pirates of all ages with a sea-worthy selection of grogs and grub, and strike me colors, there may be more than a few mysterious and magical surprises in store!
