Plywood Added to Hotel du Canada Extension in EPCOT Canada Pavilion

Crews have added plywood over the structural addition to the Hotel du Canada facade in EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion.

Last time we checked on construction, a steel framework was visible sticking out of the back of the fake hotel. Now plywood covers the frame and the wall parts that were cut away. It looks like the structure is a new awning.

Just below the awning, a window or doorway is visible. The first floor of Hotel du Canada was once Le Boutiques des Provinces, but the store has been closed for several years. The ongoing construction work may be for a reopening of the space.

Some crew members were on site during our Tuesday visit. Past them, plywood also surrounded the pre-existing doorways of Hotel du Canada. Construction materials include a workbench and a large toolbox.

The plywood around the doorways is also visible over the construction walls on the other side of the pavilion. Though the store has not been open for years, the walkway past the hotel gives guests an overhead view of the pavilion’s water features.

Construction has been on and off at the Canada Pavilion since 2023. The upper level around Hotel du Canada was blocked off from June 2023 to February 2024 as the facade was repainted. In June 2024, construction walls went back up.
