The bread snack inspired by Rey’s meal in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has returned to the Milk Stand in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Polystarch Puffbread – $6.79

Multilayered Pastry with a Crunchy, Sweet Streusel Shell

A hand holds a round greenish Polystarch Puffbread in front of a rustic building with metal and wood decor, evoking the ambiance of Galaxy's Edge.

The bread is essentially a regular croissant base with a green outer dome. The green shell has no unique flavor other than a mild sweetness.

The green shell coats the top of the bread, while the basic croissant base can be seen peeking out on the sides.

While it has the same taste as any regular croissant, the inside of the puffbread was moist and soft. Getting this bread wouldn’t be worth a special trip to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but it could make a decent snack and looks interesting in photos.

Polystarch Puffbread in “Star Wars”

A person holds a green bread bun in front of an armored figure with a helmet and blaster. The background includes a wall and a light fixture, casting an intriguing shadow on the scene.

In the “Star Wars” universe, polystarch puffbread, or just “portion bread,” is a self-rising bread made with polystarch flour. In “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Rey trades her scavenged goods with Unkar Plutt for polystarch packets and is later seen making the bread in her home. A recipe for making the puffbread at home also appears in the 2019 “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook” by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak.
