Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) and Oriental Land Company have teamed up for another Fantasy Springs bullet train, this one dubbed the “Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen.”
Fantasy Springs Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen
The Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen will be in service from February 21, 2025, to September 2025. The first Fantasy Springs train, the “Magical Journey Shinkansen,” began operations in October and is scheduled to continue service until the beginning of June 2025.
The Wonderful Dreams train uses some of the same colors and imagery as the Magical Journey train but in different designs and on a different service route. The lead car will have a blue wrap around the windows with Pixie Dust across the top around the Fantasy Springs and Tokyo DisneySea logos. The characters of Fantasy Springs — Rapunzel, Peter Pan, Anna, and Elsa — are pictured to one side of the blue section.
Other cars will have similar designs with different groups of characters. The wrap colors are light green, purple, and light blue, representing the three areas of Fantasy Springs: Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Peter Pan’s Never Land. Car number 16 uses the same dark blue as car number 1, with Rapunzel on one side, and Peter, Anna, and Elsa on the other side.
The headrest covers are dark blue with Fantasy Springs artwork of Rapunzel, Peter Pan, Anna, and Elsa in their lands.
A table sticker design features a guest looking out over the waters and lands of Fantasy Springs. A second table sticker design is dark blue with the golden Fantasy Springs logo. They both have QR codes leading to the Fantasy Springs page of the Tokyo Disney Resort website.
“I See the Light” from “Tangled” will play aboard the train.
The Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen is a N700A series train. It will run on the Tokaido Shinkansen line between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka. It will operate mainly as the “Hikari” and “Kodama” trains. It’s first service on February 21 as the “Hikari 632” train will depart Nagoya Station at 6:43 a.m. and arrive at Tokyo Station at 8:42 a.m. It will stop at the Toyohashi, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Shin-Yokohama, and Shinagawa stations.
This is the first time a Tokaido Shinkansen will feature a special design on all cars since it began operation 60 years ago.
