After a brief 1-day closure, the TRON Identity Program at Magic Kingdom is once again fully operational for guests.
TRON Identity Program
Last week, the Tron Identity Program was non-operational, however, the closure only lasted for one day. According to a Cast Member we spoke with at the location, the program was encountering issues but is now back up and running and available for guests.
The TRON Identity Program is located at the Tomorrowland Launch Depot in Magic Kingdom. The program allows guests to create a custom TRON action figure and is similar to the Avatar Maker program at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Computer software is used to capture a scan of your face to make a TRON Program action figure in your likeness. The figure comes in packaging resembling a TRON arcade cabinet.
The experience description on the official Walt Disney World website reads, “Prepare to enter the Grid through a Grid Digitization Portal located in Tomorrowland Launch Depot. Once inside, you will be able to create an action figure, or Program, that looks and sounds just like you.”
As a User, you will go through the customization process. Image Capture will scan your facial features. Then, you’ll select your helmet and body configuration. Will your Program be an Enforcer or a Combatant? A Scout or a Heavy Sentry? The choice is yours. Also, don’t forget to select a team color. Finally, you’ll visit Command Input, where you will record 6 lines of dialogue in your own voice.”
The experience is $89.99 per action figure plus tax, and advance reservations are highly recommended but not required.
