Work continues on the Woody’s Lunch Box covered seating project. As of late last month and moving into 2025, the available seating area has expanded, with new pavement having been unveiled.

Woody’s Lunch Box Seating Area

The construction site features colorful structures and large light bulbs hanging amidst trees and green fencing, reminiscent of Woody's Lunch Box. Nearby, you'll find covered seating areas that will provide a cozy spot upon completion.

In late December 2024, new pavement was poured in the area behind the construction scrim and rolling planters that separate the current seating area from the work being done. Toward the back, you can still see some dirt left around the tower. You can also see the shade structure that was first erected in 2022.

People are gathered in a colorful outdoor amusement park area with string lights, tables, and Woody's Lunch Box nearby. A building resembling a toy structure and covered seating enhance the fun atmosphere. Trees and clear skies are visible in the background.

Today, part of this new pavement is now being used for additional seating space, with the rolling planters pushed back to be closer to the tower structure. The pavement is the same dirt-like color found in the rest of the land.

More colorful tables and chairs line the rolling planters and construction scrim than back in November 2024, when some additional seating reopened to guests. The original seating area was first closed and then demolished in September 2024.

In these photos, you can see just how close the planter now sits to the tower, allowing for a greater measure of seating area for guests.

The construction site features a cracked concrete slab amidst vibrant plants and colorful metal beams. Scattered equipment and materials hint at upcoming developments, possibly for Woody's Lunch Box, with plans for covered seating upon completion.

Looking at the tower from the other side, there still is some work left to be done. With no concrete forms in place in the dirt area, it’s possible it could end up being some sort of planter, or more pavement could be coming later. A square section of pavement has also been knocked out on the left, though it’s unclear as to why.

Woody’s Lunch Box continues to operate while construction on the expanded seating is ongoing. This project, though unannounced, addresses one of the main complaints about Toy Story Land: its lack of shade and seating, especially near this counter-service restaurant. Though there are umbrella tables in the area, it still does not offer permanent covered seating at the time of publication.
