No harm ever came from reading a book…
The first-ever “The Mummy” Loungefly bag has arrived at Universal Orlando Resort. The backpack is inspired by the Book of the Dead from the lost city of Hamunaptra.
Book of the Dead ‘The Mummy’ Loungefly Backpack – $90
The bag is book-shaped and mainly black, with a scuffed texture and carved lines. It has shiny gold appliqués on the sides that resemble metal buckles. In the lower right corner, a black metal label features the wordmarks for “The Mummy” and Loungefly.
The main feature of the cover is a golden circle featuring an eight-pointed star around a black embroidered scarab. The scarab has feathery wings and a halo-like circle above its head. In “The Mummy,” this is where the book’s key is placed.
On the left side of the cover is a gray Egyptian design. There are two large scarabs on the top and bottom. In the center is an image of two people, one seemingly a Pharaoh, above hieroglyphics. The actual book as seen in “The Mummy’ features more scarabs — but it’s also larger and made of metal.
The back has a pair of shiny gold padded straps. A black handle is on top. The back is the same textured black as the front.
In gold letters along the bottom of the back is the quote, “Death is only the beginning.” These are Imhotep’s final words, translated by Evelyn, in the first film.
The front cover of the “book” houses a thin pocket. The zipper runs around the top and side of the back. The zipper pull resembles the book’s star-shaped key. The main compartment has two zipper pulls featuring the Loungefly wordmark.
The zippers are bronze-tone. The main compartment’s opening runs across the top and halfway down the side of the bag.
The interior lining is white with a black pattern of “The Mummy” iconography including Imhotep’s screaming face.
This bag is available in Five & Dime at Universal Studios Florida and likely Sahara Traders, the gift shop of Revenge of The Mummy.
