Jollywood Nights ‘Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along’ Nominated for IAAPA Brass Ring Award

“‘What’s This?’: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along has been chosen as a finalist for the “Most Creative Winter Holiday Production,” a Brass Ring Award given by IAAPA.

A stage performance features a person in a skeleton costume reminiscent of Nightmare Before Christmas, standing in front of a colorful, abstract backdrop. Audience members are visible in the foreground, eagerly awaiting the sing-along moments to come alive.

The show, which debuted in 2023 at Disney Jollywood Nights, features the giant life-like Jack Skellington puppet from “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular” fireworks at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The puppet introduces guests to the show, which follows two friends as they discover the story of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” With each song, the scene from the film plays on screen with lyrics for guests to sing along.

“What’s This?” is the first song. The other featured numbers are “Kidnap the Sandy Claws,” “Sally’s Song,” “Oogie Boogie’s Song,” and the finale.

The event is aimed at a more adult audience than Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom. It includes special entertainment, character meet and greets, food items, and drinks. The retro theming brings to life the glitz and glamor of an old Hollywood soiree.

Other shows at the event include “Disney Holidays in Hollywood,” hosted by Miss Piggy and Kermit, in the Theater of the Stars on Sunset Boulevard and  “Glisten!,” an ice skating show is performed on the stage at the end of Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Chinese Theater.
