A TikTok posted by user @keesha4rank allegedly shows a 7-year-old child left unattended while parents rode Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure Park.

People gather outside a brightly colored, elaborate tower attraction with futuristic and themed architecture, surrounded by trees and greenery.

In the TikTok video, @keesha4rank shows a stroller parked behind a wall across from the attraction. Movement is shown below a Spiderman blanket, confirming the presence of a child. The user states that the parents parked the stroller before going to get on the ride. She reportedly also heard one of the parent’s say, “Oh just put a chair right there to block that side off.”

In the comment section, @keesha4rank states that once she and her family noticed movement in the stroller, they reported it to nearby Cast Members who immediately went to the aid of the child. She also states in the comments that security removed the parents from the ride to retrieve the child, who is supposedly 7-years-old.

Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: BREAKOUT! has a 40 inch height requirement but offers the Rider Switch option for guests with children too small or young to ride. The Safety, Accessibility, and Guests Policies listed for the ride also state that children must be supervised at all times and that children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a person age 14 or older. The ride has big drops and can be considered dark, loud, and scary.

Commenters on the video suggest that this is not a rare occurrence at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Many guests and Cast Members share that this is something that allegedly “happens all the time.” No official statement or information has come from Disneyland.

  1. How times have changed. I remember my mom leaving me home with my sister who was 5 and I was 7 while she went shopping in the 60’s. House didn’t burn down, and we were fine.
