According to the My Disney Experience app, the merchandise location will be undergoing refurbishment through May 2025. The refurbishment will happen in two phases. Throughout the refurbishment, two merchandise locations will remain available to guests. During the refurbishment process, guests are advised that they might see and hear construction activity in the area.

The Screen Door General Store sells items such as groceries, snacks, beverages, stationary items, and souvenirs. The store is divided into multiple sections with different entrances. During our recent visit, the center section and entrance were closed off to guests’ access.

Upon entering the store, we noticed a white construction wall had been set up as refurbishment work continues.

One section of the store has completed renovations and now displays a more modern look with coastal green and blue colors with light wood flooring.

Guests have access to groceries in the renovated section of the store along with candy and confectionary treats at the counter.

Refurbishment work has not yet taken place at the other end of the store. The old theming is still intact with the wooden flooring, checkout counter, and lighting fixtures. White construction walls were also visible from this end of the store as the middle portion is being refurbished.

Since Disney stated the refurbishment would happen in phases with two sections of the store remaining open to guests, this section would be the next and final section to undergo refurbishment.

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort also saw another recent refurbishment as the lobby furniture was replaced and reupholstered.
