The bears of Country Bear Musical Jamboree at Magic Kingdom have recently been brushed and some received new fur.
Country Bears Refreshed
Though the new show, which debuted last summer, uses the same animatronics as the original Country Bear Jamboree, the characters have received new costumes and fur. Cast and crew continue to maintain the bears, making sure they look impeccable even after dozens of shows a day. This includes sometimes brushing their fur, as well as replacing worn-out pieces.

Among The Five Bear Rugs, Big Fred’s fur has been brushed towards his arm instead of straight down, giving him a rougher look. Tennessee’s fur appears to be a little shorter and curlier. Little Oscar’s fur is less frizzy.
Bunny, the center bear of The Sun Bonnet Trio, had her arm fur, leg fur, and skirt refreshed after recently leaking hydraulic fluid.

Romeo McGrowl’s face and neck fur were either trimmed or flattened. His hands, meanwhile, have much longer fur than when the attraction opened.

Shaker might look the most different from opening day. He originally had much wilder fur with white tufts on his arms. These white tufts are gone and the rest of his fur has been significantly combed. There are still some white tufts on his face, although they are tamped down.

Sammy the raccoon has had his fur replaced several times, most recently just a few weeks ago. We aren’t sure why it’s been replaced so frequently, unless they are testing out different looks. You can see how his facial features look a little different when comparing our two photos above (the color differences are due to different cameras).
We were tipped off to the updates thanks to Reddit user RealATRE2 and YouTuber Camp Grizzly Kid, who catalog changes to the bears. There have also been some upgrades to the theater’s lighting since Country Bear Musical Jamboree debuted.
