Epic Universe is now undergoing Team Member previews for the first time, with employees allowed to visit most places in the new park through next week. As a result, most of the attractions in the park have been spotted testing with actual riders. Unfortunately, an attraction that is not currently operating as planned is Stardust Racers.

Stardust Racers is a new dueling roller coaster located in the Celestial Park world of Epic Universe. The roller coaster has been seen testing at full speed for several weeks both during the day and with its signature lighting package at night. We recently saw what appears to be trim brakes installed on the track at the beginning of the top hat drop.

In this latest set of aerial photos, we can see where one of the roller coaster vehicles has gotten stuck in the valley following one of the ride’s larger drops. While some originally guessed this was a test of evacuation procedures or similar, the vehicle actually got stuck in this position due to the strong winds in the area earlier this week.

This vehicle appears to not have had enough momentum from the previous drop to climb up the following hill, allowing it to get stuck in the valley between the two.

Early in the morning, bioreconstruct captured images of a crane appearing and being set up in the nearby dirt-covered backstage area. This crane had not been seen placed anywhere at Stardust Racers until the vehicle got stuck.

In additional photos taken that night, we can see where the crane has now been fully installed next to Stardust Racers and is in the process of lifting the stuck vehicle over the crest of the next hill.

It appears Universal is still working on perfecting the speed of the roller coaster, especially during Florida’s sometimes turbulent weather conditions. We will undoubtedly see this attraction undergoing further testing to see if this is a one-time occurrence, or if additional changes need to be made prior to the official opening of Epic Universe on May 22.
