While onboard the Walt Disney World Railroad on Wednesday morning, we saw crew members laying new track pieces at the attraction, specifically in the Tumbleweed section that faces the train’s track.

Crew members waved to us as we passed by. The new pieces of track can be seen just in front of the Gold Dust Saloon.

Other crew members were standing near the new pieces of track. There is still plenty of scaffolding present in the area as work continues on the lengthy refurbishment of the attraction.

Crews first started placing new track on the attraction back in January, though this work appeared to take place mostly in the interior of the mountain.

Big Thunder Mountain will be closed until at least 2026. When it reopens Disney claimed there will be “a little bit of new magic.”
