A new shirt featuring Dinosaur Gertie is available at Walt Disney World.
We found the new shirt at Keystone Clothiers in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Dinosaur Gertie T-Shirt – $29.99
The shirt features a snow-covered Gertie on a pink background holding an ice cream pop with the text “Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction.” The words “ice cream” are orange and yellow with snow displayed on top of them.
Below the logo is Disney’s Hollywood Studios wordmark in white text.
Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction is located on Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, just behind the shirt in the photo above.
The design of the shirt is similar to that of the Dinosaur Gertie mug that is also available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Winsor McCay created the animated character Gertie the Dinosaur in 1914. Due to Walt Disney’s respect and appreciation for the animation work McCay did on Gertie the Dinosaur, Disney Imagineers chose to honor McCay with the dinosaur ice cream shop.
During the holidays, Gertie is decked out with her Santa hat and an ornament hanging from her mouth. Last summer, she received some TLC with a refurbishment of her tail.
