Crews are adding a layer of concrete to the front of the new Test Track overhang at EPCOT.
Test Track Construction
Crew members on scaffolding were preparing concrete and then spreading it across the front edge of the awning on Tuesday morning. This covers the layer of silver paneling installed a week ago, which itself covered weatherproof tar paper.
The very front of the awning is set back slightly from the rest. The crew had almost completely covered this front section in concrete and were finishing on the left.
They picked up globs of concrete and used tools to spread it flat over the façade.
By the time we left, they were almost done.
We could also see crew members working on the underside of the overhang. The underside on the front right is black.
The rest of the underside is gray. There are black strips every few feet.
On the left side, crew members appeared to be installing one of the black strips.
The sides of the overhang still feature exposed black tar paper. It looks like a layer of concrete was spread over the back left section.
Meanwhile, crews have installed the first of final paneling on the back right. These metallic silver panels match the show building’s exterior and look straight out of the concept art, below.

Crews are also working on the pavement outside of Test Track, which will reopen in the late summer.
