Families at Walt Disney World during last year’s holiday season might have witnessed two 25-year-olds getting arrested with one of them screaming that Disney Cast Members were “pigs, wh***s, c**ts, and b**ches,” according to Orange County Sheriff’s records.
Matanel Adda, of Fort Lauderdale, and Dominic Ciero, of Plantation, were arrested after the November 16 scene at EPCOT, and both have pleaded not guilty to the pending criminal charges in Orange Circuit Court, records show. Both men could also potentially get their cases dismissed.
It took the Orange County Sheriff’s Office more than three months to release the arrest records which is why WDWNT is writing about the case now.
The report says a group of young people were in an argument at the France pavilion with a woman who used a wheelchair. It’s unclear what prompted the argument.
Adda tried to physically fight the woman in the wheelchair because he felt disrespected and wanted to confront her, the arrest report said.
“The altercation continued all the way to the Land Pavilion where one of the white males in the young adult group approached the handicapped woman in a wheelchair and began a verbal tirade directed at her in front of hundreds of guests. Once Disney security was made aware of the situation once again they intervened and contacted law enforcement,” the arrest report said.
Disney wanted everyone kicked out of the park.
“Disney security manager, later identified as Chelsea Timmons advised the woman in the wheelchair that her time at the park was done for the day and politely asked her to exit. She complied without incident,” the arrest report said. “Chelsea then approached the group of young adults, which comprised of a white male, later identified as Dominic Ciero and another white male, later identified as Matanel Adda. Once Chelsea advised them that their day at the park was over and politely asked them to leave, Dominic became extremely irate and verbally abusive towards Chelsea.”
A group of Disney security managers walked Ciero, Adda, and the rest of their group out of EPCOT.
“Ciero began filming and getting in the faces of the Disney managers. He began to cuss and while stumbling over into their personal space screaming ‘F–k Off!’ Your [sic] pigs, wh–es, c–ts, and bi—es,’” the arrest report said. “At one point he moved in towards security manager Barbra Somoano stating she was a ‘Moulinyan’ which translates to the N word in Italian. Barbra asked him to back up in which he refused and continued to scream in her face. Deputies had to get involved and told Dominic to back up once again. While exiting the park, Dominic came into Chelsea’s personal space, inches from her face, and told her to ‘F–k off’ in front of several guests and small children.”
The families and other Disney visitors “appeared to be frightened by his aggressive and erratic behavior,” the arrest report said.
“Dominic was intoxicated in a public establishment causing a major disturbance and breach of the peace,” authorities said in the arrest report. “He did this by creating a hostile environment towards other guests and becoming extremely confrontational towards Disney managers while being asked to leave. Dominic was trespassed from Walt Disney World property for his behavior and advised never to return or else he will be subject to arrest.”
Meanwhile, Matanel Adda also was arrested.
“Once we exited the park and finally got to the front entrance, Dominic was being secured in handcuffs. Matanel decided to take matters into his own hands and harass myself and Deputy Michael Root as we were trying to conduct law enforcement action,” Deputy Kyle Moon wrote in the report. “Matanel approached us from behind aggressively and began to cause a major disturbance once again in front of several children and families. Deputy Root and I gave Matanel several direct orders to back up and away from us as it was extremely dangerous. Matanel refused our direct order to back away and knowingly remained within 25 feet of us with the intent to impede and interfere with our arrest.”
“I am not backing up, I don’t give a s–t! I’m giving you enough space!” Adda yelled at the deputies, according to his arrest report.
Adda was charged with two misdemeanor counts of resisting an officer without violence and disorderly intoxication. He pleaded not guilty, according to Orange Circuit Court records. His trial is scheduled for May although he is pending approval into a pretrial diversion program, according to a March 10 filing.
Ciero also pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor count of disorderly intoxication. He has been referred to pretrial diversion, according to court records filed last month.
The state attorney’s office dismisses the criminal charges if people complete the pretrial diversion program.
Neither Ciero nor Adda’s attorneys responded to a request for comment.
While it’s been a while since guests were caught fighting and harassing cast members at EPCOT, there have been plenty of incidents throughout Walt Disney World in recent months. A woman was arrested, trespassed, and tasered at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort last fall for attacking her own mother. And if fights weren’t enough, a guest pooped in the queue of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
