Though refurbishment work on the Main Street, U.S.A. train station appears near completion, there is still some work to be done. Gray concrete is exposed on the side of the train station.
Main Street Train Station Refurbishment
The Walt Disney World Railroad is still operating and stopping at the station during construction, which began in January. There are only walls remaining on the second floor patio and to the left when facing the station from inside Magic Kingdom.
Behind the construction walls on the ground is where we saw the concrete work. Crews removed scrim from the balcony on the right, revealing the messy concrete on the curved wall. There’s also splotches of gray on the station wall to the left.
It appears exterior paneling was removed from parts of the wall. New paneling will probably be installed over the concrete before construction walls come down.
In the above photo, compare the paneling on the left to the incomplete wall on the right.
Meanwhile, one side of the train station’s grand stairwell is still closed.
It’s blocked by a construction wall.
The construction walls and scrim cut the upper patio in half.
