Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges closed in February for its annual refurbishment. During the closure, the area received a refresh with routine maintenance.

Many of the areas are noticeably more vibrant and have received fresh coats of paint. The walkway above displays stripes of green, purple, red, and yellow.

The rockwork has also received a touch-up, as the colors are more vibrant than before the refurbishment.

We also confirmed with a Team Member that the sign at the front of the attraction has been replaced with a smaller one as part of the refurbishment.

Me Ship, The Olive has also received a refresh after undergoing refurbishment.

While the ship’s exterior did not appear to have received a fresh coat of paint, the interior certainly did and smelled like it as well.

The props inside were noticeably brighter, including the cans of spinach and portholes on the wall.

Other props throughout the area, such as the crates and barrel,s also received some TLC, as well as the flooring.

We did observe that the slide was currently closed off from guest access, with netting covering both the top and the bottom. It is unclear if this netting is permanent or will be removed at a later date.
