The Universal Terra Luna Resort, the sister of the Universal Stella Nova Resort that opened earlier this year, is now open near Epic Universe. Terra Luna is “inspired by the thrill of exploring the unknown and pushing the limits of discovery.” Join us for a full photo and video tour of a standard ADA room at the new resort.
Universal Terra Luna Resort Room Tour

Terra Luna has standard double queen hotel rooms, some of which are ADA compliant. Anyone comparing this resort to the nearby Stella Nova will immediately notice several design similarities, though the colors and details are a little different

The room does include some unique branded furnishings, such as this galaxy-inspired door hanger saying “Dreams are Universal – Do Not Disturb.” The text and style of the hanger are the same as Stella Nova version, but the details at Terra Luna use more orange and green hues compared to the blue and purple of Stella Nova.

Likewise, the safety map posted on the door is mostly orange and green, though the map is nearly a mirror of Stella Nova.

The main entryway is mostly plain white, with a full-length mirror hanging near the bathroom door.

One of the main differences between the ADA room and the standard room types is the overall layout of the bathroom. The vanity area with the sink, the toilet, and the shower are all placed together in one main room with no space dividers, though the shower has a plain hanging curtain.

One small issue is that the bathroom door swings inward, so you would hit someone sitting on the toilet if you opened the door quickly.

As with Stella Nova, Terra Luna has its own branded toiletries. The soap is unique to this resort, so the wrapper is in warm colors with a galaxy motif.

The shower is still all white with a few curved lines on the back wall. Both the shower and toilet areas have the additional ADA metal handrails installed as well.

The shower has a metal folding seat in the right corner for anyone who requires it.

The shampoo and conditioner bottles are mounted to the wall, but they are also designed to match the style of Terra Luna. The overall layout is the same at Stella Nova, but the colors and stars on these bottles are unique to the resort.

There is both a fixed shower head and an adjustable one that is lower to the ground.

Moving to the main sleeping area, the room layout and overall style are very similar to Stella Nova. The mural behind the bed has been changed to match the resort’s name, so the sky full of stars was replaced with a mural showing the surface of a blue and grey planet.

While the mural at Stella Nova was painted on a panel raised above the wall, this mural is flat and painted directly on the wall. There are still some accent lights around the bed, but they are now installed behind the grey headboard.

The rectangular blue rug below the beds is the same at both resorts, but the round accent pillows are different colors. The linens are unfortunately the same scratchy fabric we didn’t like at Stella Nova.

There is a single nightstand with a grey drawer that pulls out from the top.

The headboard comes equipped with a section of outlets, including two standard outlets, one USB-C, and one standard USB. The alarm clock does come with a wireless phone charging station for anyone with the ability to charge using wireless.

Terra Luna has the same round, porthole-style windows that do not open to the outside. We still enjoy that this rounded window provides a little extra theming and leans into the space idea.

Our room was located on the top floor, at the far left curve of the building. Since we were facing away from Epic Universe, we did not have the most picturesque view. We were above what is essentially a backstage area, so most of the view was of parking lots and the roofs of buildings. The pool is very pretty, though, and a view facing that side would be great.

One significant difference between our reviews of Stella Nova and Terra Luna is the switch for the two round light fixtures on the left wall, just above the couch. At Stella Nova, the switch for these lights was located behind the base and were very difficult to find, to the point that in our original review we thought they were just decorative art and not actually lights. In this room, both of these lights are now connected to a regular wall switch located near the bedroom entrance.
While we originally thought in our video review that the light switch might be a difference between Stella Nova and Terra Luna, we realized this is likely due to being in an ADA room. Unfortunately, this means the standard rooms will still have the hidden light switches on the back of each fixture.

This wall by the TV is mostly filled with a teal blue couch. Next to the couch is a small round table that can be easily moved to anywhere in the room.

The room includes a white dresser with four empty drawers for storing clothes or other items. We appreciate that the top of the dresser is mostly empty, leaving plenty of additional space to be used for luggage. The only thing we miss from this area would be a chair to use it as a desk.

The pen, notepad, and resort information sheet are all specifically branded for the Terra Luna resort. The pen is green and has the Universal Terra Luna Resort branding. This section also has a large charging port with three standard USBs, one USB-C, and two standard outlets. The ports pop out of the desk by pressing the round button in front, and they can be pushed back down when not in use.

To the left of the dresser is a standard hotel coffee station with a mini fridge. The fridge is stored in a white cabinet with no handle, just a curved edge along the top.

The door of the fridge is not connected to the cabinet, so it has to be opened separately. The fridge comes empty and has plenty of space for storing food or drinks.

None of the coffee station supplies are resort-themed. The coffee machine is a black Cuisinart, same as Stella Nova.
Overall, our feelings about the Universal Terra Luna Resort are that it is not bad for a value-priced resort. Compared to hotels at a similar price point, the theming is above standard. The convenience of being close to Epic Universe is also not to be ignored, especially when the park officially opens in May 22. We also liked some of the conveniences of the ADA specific room, such as the light switch for the round fixtures on the wall. We wish this was a standard change in all of the rooms because it is much easier to use. However, this resort is virtually identical to the Universal Stella Nova Resort, so staying at either location would likely result in an equal experience.

THANK YOU for finally showing an ADA room. My mom is handicapped and these are the types of rooms we stay in at WDW (either at a DVC resort or All-Star Sports). It’s nice to see what an ADA room looks like before booking this resort.
