A few adjustments have been made to the Red Car Trolley now that is has been permanently stationed near the front of Disney California Adventure, including the addition of clear window panes.
New Clear Windows on Red Car Trolley

The Red Car Trolley officially stopped running at Disney California Adventure on February 8, 2025. Since the final day of operation, the trolley has been moved near the front of the park as a photo-op location.
The Red Car Trolley stopped operating due to the planned expansion of Avengers Campus. The project will double the land’s footprint but involves taking over the area housing the barn where the trolleys were stored.

In a new addition to the parked trolley, all of the windows on either side of the vehicle have now been filled with clear window panes. These square windows running along both sides of the trolley had always been open while it was operating. Guests would often wave at others from inside the vehicle, as seen on its last day of operation.

The small rectangles above the square windows were always filled, and now the square windows have also been filled to match. The same treatment has been applied to the front and back of the trolley, where all of the larger windows and the open space above the door have also been filled.

The new panes are clear, though they make it difficult to take photos of the trolley interior due to the light glare. Guests can see inside the trolley, but not reach their hands inside the vehicle. Each square has been perfectly cut to fit inside the red window outline already present.

Disney has made no official announcement on why this change to the Red Car Trolley was made. It is possible Disney did not want guests reaching or climbing inside the vehicle now that it is a stationery photo-op spot.
