After just a few short days of being missing, Sonny Eclipse has returned to the stage at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Magic Kingdom.
Sonny Eclipse Returns to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
We previously reported that as of March 19, Sonny was not performing for guests and was missing from his usual spot at the Tomorrowland quick-service dining location.

Sonny’s entire set was missing, and in its place was a different setup typically used for special events. Sonny’s entire set can be raised into the ceiling above to accommodate the special events stage used by DJs, bands, or other performers.

As of Friday, March 21, Sonny has returned to serenade guests. He performs on a continuous loop that’s approximately 26 minutes long. Some of the songs included in his set include “My Name is Sonny Eclipse,” “Hello Space Angels,” and “Yew Nork, Yew Nork.” Sonny is from the planet Zork, and his backup singers are invisible space angels.
Although the reason for Sonny’s sudden disappearance is unknown, it’s possible he may have been temporarily non-operational and was removed from guests’ view while being repaired. Our reporter noted that Sonny was looking good after his short stint away.
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe originally opened in 1994 as part of a larger overhaul of Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. The quick-service restaurant serves a selection of bacon cheeseburgers, chicken strips, plant-based burgers, and other offerings.
