The area outside of the entrance to Test Track is being prepped for new concrete to be poured, as work continues on the attraction’s reimagining.
Test Track Construction
In our last update, we saw new paneling added to the overhang and more of the old pavement torn up outside the entrance.
The area of dirt has been flattened, and plywood has been added, marking off the area where the concrete will be poured.
The dirt has also been removed from the circular hole at the center where the attraction’s sign once stood, and more wood pieces have been added. A few workbenches and a yellow trash bin have also been added to the area.
Crews on the scaffolding were at work on the right side of the awning where the black tar paper remains.
In the area between the SIMporium and the attraction entrance, a hole was being dug and a dirt pile had started to form.
Crews on the scaffolding were sanding the white panels that were recently installed.
Around the back side of the awning, we observed that blue panels had started to be installed.
Test Track is slated to reopen in late summer 2025. This will be the attraction’s second reimaging. During a media event, Disney shared that the reimagined Test Track will focus on the ride experience itself instead of pre- and post-shows as seen in previous versions of the attraction.
The reimagining was first announced at Destination D23 in September 2023. It will take inspiration from the original World of Motion attraction with the new design celebration “today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future.”
