BREAKING: Both Walt Disney World Water Parks Will Be Open Simultaneously

Both Walt Disney World water parks will operate at the same time for the first time in over five years.

Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon Open at Same Time

Disney’s Blizzard Beach is currently open and celebrating its 30th anniversary. As previously announced, Typhoon Lagoon reopens on May 1 and Blizzard Beach will be closed starting that day. We now know it will be a brief closure from May 1 through May 20.

Blizzard Beach will then reopen for “Cool Kid Summer,” operating alongside Typhoon Lagoon from May 21 through September 7. Disney did not indicate which water park, if either, will close after September 7.

The water parks have not operated at the same time since 2019. Each would have a brief closure during the year, but they didn’t begin completely alternating operations until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. This means it will also be the first time in over five years that all 6 Walt Disney World parks will be open at the same time.

In addition, this means that Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests will be able to use their free water park ticket perk for either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon starting May 21, rather than simply choosing whichever water park is open at the time of their stay. This benefit is available throughout 2025.
