Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis appeared during Disney’s CinemaCon presentation on Thursday to present a new clip from “Freakier Friday,” the upcoming sequel to the 2003 “Freaky Friday.”

“Ever since we announced this project, the response online has been outstanding,” said Disney’s theatrical distribution head Andrew Cripps, who was just hired last month. “The love for our two stars is incredible.”
In the original film, mom and daughter Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) swap bodies, forcing them to see things from a new point of view. The sequel sees them switching again — this time with Anna’s teen daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter.
“We can’t begin to tell you how amazing it’s been to be back in Anna and Tess’ shoes,” Lohan said to the CinemaCon audience.
“But we don’t spend that much time in those shoes,” Curtis added. “This Friday is freakier because this time, we have double the swaps. You’ll get to see me like never before, thanks to a very aggressive teenage makeover.”
The clip shown at CinemaCon was not posted online, but Variety provided a summary.
In the scene featuring “Hot to Go!” by Chappell Roan in the background, Tess and Anna try to reconnect with Chad Michael Murray’s Jake — Lohan’s love interest in the first film.
“All you have to do is go in there and flirt with Jake and remind him why he fancied you when you were young,” Tess says.
“Wait, I wasn’t me when I was younger,” Anna says. “I don’t know how to flirt. I definitely don’t know how to flirt as an old person. What do they do? Talk about transitional lenses? John Mayer?”
Anna tries to charm Jake, asking, “Do you ever think about us?” He says, “I’m not sure there’s a right answer to that question.” In response to her trying to be seductive, he assumes she’s having a stroke.
Jake is still interested in Curtis’ Tess, though, asking, “I don’t know how to broach the subject. Is your husband still with us? How old is he?”
“Freakier Friday” is directed by Nisha Ganatra. It also stars Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Rosalind Chao, and Mark Harmon. Kristin Burr, Andrew Gunn, and Curtis produce. It will be in theaters on August 8. Watch the teaser trailer below.
