The large hole dug outside the main Test Track entrance has now been filled, and new concrete walkways have been added near the side of the attraction’s building.

Test Track Construction Update

Stunning concept art of a futuristic test track pavilion showcases families strolling towards a building labeled "Test Track powered by Chevrolet," beautifully framed by lush nature and a radiant sky.

Test Track has been closed in EPCOT since late 2024, as the attraction is being reimagined to take inspiration from the World of Motion. Many of the new changes will involve updates to the actual ride experience, as opposed to the pre- and post-shows that were changed during the previous versions of the ride. While Disney’s original concept art for Test Track 3.0 included the Chevrolet logo, Disney also later confirmed that the attraction would be reverting to its original General Motors sponsorship.

The "Test Track" attraction site is bustling with activity as equipment hums and barriers signal its upcoming debut. Freshly poured new concrete sets the stage, while a red car sits nearby, adding a splash of color to the promising scene.

As seen in the concept art, two of the biggest changes to the Test Track building are the addition of a new curved roof structure over the main entrance and a new sign in the middle of the concrete walkway. Most of the scaffolding around the roof structure was removed in late March, and work has now been focused on final details, such as installing light fixtures.

A construction site near a modern building features scaffolding and machinery. The circular foundation of a new concrete test track is being laid at the center, surrounded by construction materials and safety barriers.

Since our last update, the large rectangular hole on the left side of the structure has been completely filled with dirt. The area has been smoothed out once again, so whatever work was taking place in this section is already complete.

For comparison, above is an image taken about one week ago. Construction crew members were using shovels to dig a rectangular hole several feet into the ground.

Moving back to the most recent images, we can also see where more wood structures have been added to the ground around and in front of the roof structure. It is possible this area is being prepped for new concrete to be poured, as most of the original walkway was torn up when the refurbishment began.

Over on the right side of the building, it appears some of the new concrete is already being laid. Most of the walkway by this right corner was only covered with flattened dirt. Today, most of the walkway has new, red-tinted concrete leading almost to the edge of the roof structure. One small section closest to the structure is waiting to be filled, but most of the other areas appear complete.

Test Track is expected to reopen in late 2025, though no exact date has been announced yet.
