The process of transforming Disney California Adventure’s old turnstiles is nearly complete, and the last remaining section is now under construction.
Disney California Adventure Turnstiles

The new turnstiles with MagicBand+ functionality and new cameras were first installed at the entrance to Disney California Adventure in March of 2024. After a testing period, Disney has been slowly closing one section of the entrance at a time to remove the old technology and install the new ones.

The majority of the Disney California Adventure entrance is now complete, and the section of turnstiles furthest to the left was the last remaining section with the older technology. This leftmost group has now been wrapped in construction walls, implying the project is nearing completion.

The construction walls are teal blue with white trim. Posters attached to a few of the walls say, “Pardon our Pixie Dust as we refurbish this area for your future enjoyment.”

The construction walls are equally visible from the park’s interior. Guests arriving at Disney California Adventure will now use the newer turnstiles with wider gates, similar to those already in use at Disneyland Paris.
Disneyland Park Turnstiles

Testing continues for the new turnstiles at the entrance to Disneyland Park. They are the same style and design as the turnstiles already present at Disney California Adventure.

The turnstiles on the eastern side of the Disneyland Park entrance are still the old versions, making them the last ones at Disneyland Resort.

A few of the turnstiles at Disneyland Park have also been converted to the newer technology. These are currently being tested with MagicBand+, but they are not currently using the facial recognition capabilities we have seen tested in the past. For the present, the system takes a photo that matches the guest’s face with the photo on their ticket or pass.
