As part of the many festivities for the inaugural Universal Fan Fest Nights event, guests in Super Nintendo World were able to meet and take pictures with Yoshi.

Yoshi Meet and Greet

We met a green Yoshi in Super Nintendo World. Yoshis come in a variety of colors, but green is the common coloring for marketing, merchandise, and in the game as Mario’s companion. This isn’t all-inclusive, however, and guests only need to look as far as the nearby Yoshi’s Adventure ride to see a spectrum of Yoshi colors.

Yoshi’s first appearance was during the 2023 NO LIMIT! parade at Universal Studios Japan, but he only walked the parade route and did not meet guests. Universal Fan Fest Nights is the first time Yoshi is a meet and greet character to interact personally with guests, as well as the first appearance by Yoshi in North America.

If you want to see even more Yoshi, Universal also released a wave of Fan Fest Nights event-exclusive Yoshi merchandise. We also reviewed some of the new Yoshi food items at Toadstool Cafe, which included a cute Yoshi pasta dish and a green Yoshi smoothie. Universal Fan Fest Nights is a special ticketed event taking place select nights from April 25 through May 18, 2025.
