Review

Pack Mule – $14 for 12 oz. single serving

Cuervo Tradicional Blanco tequila, DeKuyper Crème de Cassis, and ginger beer

A hand holding a cold, red iced drink with a straw in a clear cup outdoors near a tree and some shrubs.

This was refreshing in the heat, but we couldn’t taste much tequila. It’s mostly ginger beer with hints of crème de cassis. It’s not bad, but at this price, you may wish to just buy a known commodity and skip the experiments.

Dead Man’s Hand – $14 for 12 oz. single serving

Misguided Spirits whiskey, Angostura bitters, and sparkling apple cider

This is a tribute to the classic poker hand Wild Bill Hickock allegedly had when he was killed. While it’s a simple drink that was handcrafted, we found it unremarkable, if inoffensive. The whiskey was sort of weak and took a backseat. Perhaps a bit too Autumnal in this heat, but it will probably hit the spot better later in the event’s run as the weather cools down.
