Universal Studios Japan is taking care of its Team Members by debuting costumes and other safety measures that keep them cool in the summer heat. Guests can also take advantage of “Cool Green Street,” which serves as a place to cool down and get a break from the sun.
Heat Countermeasures and Cooling Costumes

Universal Studios Japan believes that “we want our guests to be able to visit the park with peace of mind and enjoy the park safely,” and is therefore working on heat countermeasures based on three principles.
The first is to incorporate entertainment elements into summer heat countermeasures. The second is to provide guests with a solid experience that helps them stay cool. The third is to ensure that crew members also take proper precautions against the heat.

The Hollywood area now features “Cool Green Street,” which is a new area with mist sprayed along the street to create a dense fog that further lowers body temperature. Additionally, a new outdoor rest area has been added as well, where visitors can cool off in the shade of zelkova trees.
There’s also an artificial turf area further inside, where you can lay out a picnic blanket and relax. Combined with the park’s indoor facilities, this provides an even more comfortable space than before.

Cool Green Street will be available from July 1 to August 26 beginning at park opening and running until 4:00 p.m.

Furthermore, measures to prevent heatstroke will be further strengthened to ensure the safety and security of the crew and entertainers. The number of “Oasis Teams” that distribute drinks, wet wipes, and salt tablets to crew members throughout the park will be increased, and in addition to the “Oasis Spots” that serve as supply points, “Cool-Down Stations” will be set up for employees to cool down inside tents.

Costumes will include ventilation features to make the fabric more breathable.

Miniature fans are also sewn into the costumes. The goal is to achieve “zero heatstroke” among crew members and entertainers.
