More construction walls have been added to the Emporium and new tile flooring has been revealed as refurbishment work continues in the Magic Kingdom shop.
Emporium Refurbishment
Green and white construction walls have been added to another section of the Emporium as refurbishment work continues.
Signage on the walls directs guests to additional shopping on the left. Another sign with information and instructions for mobile checkout is also near the construction wall.
The new wall extends down through the Youth & Plush section of the store. This area still has the rectangular white tiles, as opposed to the wooden flooring and decorative tiles in the recently renovated areas of the shop.
Merchandise displays of keychains and accessories sit in front of the construction wall.
New flooring has also been installed in the Youth & Plush area of the store. The tiling matches that in the front room of the Emporium.
The design resembles flowers and is a pale greenish-grey color.
Next to the flower-style tiles are geometric tiles of green, white, and tan colors.
Recently, crews were adding additional structural details to refurbished areas of the store. Corner moulding was added to several archways. We also observed that ropes connecting the checkout lines had been removed.
Refurbishment work on the Emporium began in January, with the first section being completed in March.
