Crews have removed some decorative elements from the Main Street, U.S.A. train station in Magic Kingdom as they continue refurbishing the building.
Main Street Train Station Construction
Construction walls and scrim remain on the second floor of the station, with the left half of the staircase blocked. We took these pictures before the Walt Disney World Railroad opened for the day, but the right side of the staircase does open for guests to reach the station. There are now rolling planters on each side of the entryways.
Construction walls remain up around the stairs on the far left. Crews have been redoing the concrete on the walls behind the station.
Since our March update, the concrete has been cleaned up. The decorative elements around the tops of the walls are smoother and neater.
Paneling was removed from this wall facing the park. The paneling covered the gray concrete and featured the Walt Disney World Railroad logo.
Crews have started working on the columns in the center of the station. There are some white marks near the tops of the columns where paint was chipped away.
Flat pieces of plywood painted in the same color as the concrete columns cover up other spots that are still being worked on. These are where decorative curved elements used to be.

For comparison, pictured above is the painted plywood on a left column and the decorative elements still in place on the right columns.
There is beige scrim across the top of the center archway.
Paneling with the Walt Disney World Railroad logo remains on the right side of the station, but rolling planters in front of the wall indicate it will be removed soon for a refresh.
Construction at the Main Street, U.S.A. train station began in January, but the Walt Disney World Railroad has continued operating normally.
