Railings, Benches, Tap Points Removed From The Little Mermaid Theater Queue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney has removed almost everything from the outdoor queue for the Animation Courtyard theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the soon-to-be home of “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.”

A building exterior with blue and white pillars, overhang, and decorative light fixtures. The area is clean, with some greenery in the foreground and several closed doors visible.

The former “Little Mermaid” show, “Voyage of The Little Mermaid,” never reopened following the 2020 COVID-19 shutdown. In 2021, benches were installed in the outdoor queue, turning it into a seating area. Now, these benches and the queue’s railings are all gone.

Where “tapstiles” for FastPass+ used to be are construction boxes covered in scrim. Something is wrapped in a black tarp.

The “Voyage of The Little Mermaid” billboard was removed in March. The faded fish figures remain in the hedges next to the queue.

Empty covered walkway with blue columns, posters on walls, and a manicured hedge lining the path. A grasshopper statue is partly visible on the left.

There are still framed posters on the queue walls displaying scenes from “The Little Mermaid.”

A vending machine stands next to large mobile planters filled with greenery under a covered area with blue pillars and ceiling fans.

The queue is currently blocked off with rolling planters. The pressed penny machine is in front of the planters so guests can still access it.

“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” will open, along with the new “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After,” on May 27. It was originally scheduled to open in the fall of 2024. In addition to the new show, the theater will be refreshed.
