REVIEW: De Lacey’s Cottage in Dark Universe at Epic Universe

Katie Francis

We reviewed the two snack options on the menu at De Lacey’s Cottage in Dark Universe at Epic Universe.

Location

A rustic wooden hut, like De Lacey's Cottage, stands near people before a grand stone castle on a sunny day.

De Lacey’s Cottage is in Dark Universe, near Frankenstein Manor, where the original Frankenstein’s Monster once received sustenance and friendship. Now, a couple of small snacks and treats are offered here to those wandering through Darkmoor Village.

The exterior of the building fits the theme of Dark Universe well, with dilapidated and dark wood slat siding that looks to be falling apart around those who venture near it.

Reviews

Frank & Friends Pretzel – $12.99

Served with white cheese

A hand holds a large, glazed bread shaped like a face near leafy plants outside De Lacey's Cottage.

The pretzel was extremely dry and disappointing. The dough is good, and you can taste a slight presence of butter. However, you will definitely need a hydrating liquid nearby. The cheese sauce was just okay.

Warm Hearted Cinnamon Bites – $9.99

Warm cinnamon sugar donut bites with cream cheese icing and streusel

A hand holds doughnut holes topped with white glaze and brown sugar, inspired by De Lacey's Cottage and lush greenery.

These were decent. They are warm and soft on the inside with just enough cinnamon to let you know it’s there. The cream cheese sauce on the bottom was great and a nice addition to the cinnamon bites. These were definitely not life-changing by any means, but are a great quick dessert snack option in Dark Universe.
