REVIEW: Trying the New Garlic Butter and Barbecue Rub Pretzel Nuggets with Beer Cheese at EPCOT

Walt Disney World has begun offering new Pretzel Nuggets covered in garlic butter and barbecue rub at EPCOT, and we were there on the first day to give them a try.

The new snack is available at Block & Hans in The American Adventure pavilion in World Showcase.

Pretzel Nuggets – $8.50

with House-Made Beer-Cheese Sauce

Menu display featuring mouthwatering Pretzel Nuggets drizzled with garlic butter and served alongside beer-cheese sauce, priced at $8.50. Delight in Sweet-and-Spiced Candied Nuts for just $6.00.

We think these pretzel nuggets are a decent snack offering, especially from a walk-up window to grab on the go.

Two photos of a delectable pretzel nugget: the left showcases a whole piece with a salted, garlic buttered top, while the right reveals its fluffy interior, held outdoors against a backdrop of greenery.

The pretzels are a little bit on the dry side, and you aren’t served a huge portion for the price. The garlic butter does not come through at all, and we could mostly just taste the barbecue rub that’s reminiscent of a mixture of Old Bay seasoning and barbecue potato chips. (For some reason, the garlic butter and barbecue rub mentioned by Disney in the announcement for this snack is not included in the item description in the park.)

By the time we got to the bottom of our paper cone, the salt and barbecue rub had become overpowering.

A hand holds a small pastry with cream icing, reminiscent of the indulgence of pretzel nuggets. Another hand holds a cup of the same cream. The background features flowers and greenery, adding a touch of serene elegance to the scene.

The beer cheese is good and served warm, and it’s “real” beer cheese, not that fake plastic cheese that is often served with pretzels or pretzel bites.

Overall, this is a decent option if you really, really like beer cheese, or if you’re drinking or snacking around the world. These pretzel bites are not something that we would specifically come to EPCOT for, though.
