As we first reported on April 4, a guest spotted something ablaze in the Pixar Pals parking structure. The fire appeared to have originated from a car in the Finding Nemo parking section on level 5, and the fire alarms were not initially sounding. Anaheim Fire & Rescue was called at 9:47 a.m., and first responders arrived about 10 minutes later. Guests were later allowed to leave from select levels of the parking garage.

A new article from USA Today has shared additional information and police statements regarding the fire situation. First, as we initially reported, the fire was believed to originate from a Toyota RAV4. However, Officer Sgt. Jacob Gallacher told USA Today that the fire actually began inside the engine of a nearby Kia Sportage SUV. The exact cause of the sudden blaze is still unknown.

Gallacher goes on to state that despite reports of paramedics being called to the location, no injuries have been reported. The fire did damage a total of six to twelve nearby cars. The cars closest to the blaze were described by Gallacher as “undrivable,” while others only received some light smoke damage.

Finally, the article confirms no other areas of Disneyland Resort were damaged, and levels 1 through 3 of the Pixar Pals Parking Structure reopened later the same day. The article did not contain any more information about the level on which the fire took place.
