Walt Disney Imagineering shared a video sneak peek of the updated Test Track vehicles, part of the EPCOT attraction’s reimagining.
Reimagined Test Track Vehicles
In the video, the graphics fabrication team showed off the new wraps and graphics on the cars. The graphics include the General Motors logo. The ride was sponsored by Chevrolet, a division of General Motors, since 2012, but will revert to its original GM sponsorship.
The cars have a “subtler design,” which means they are darker to blend in with the environment somewhat. For the design, the team leaned more towards an R&D version. Graphics include “Research/Development” text. The cars also received new seats, paint, wraps, and interior graphics.

We glimpsed the cars testing on the ride’s track earlier this week.
The reimagined ride will open at EPCOT in the late summer of 2025 after a year-long closure. It will take inspiration from World of Motion, the original EPCOT attraction Test Track replaced. World of Motion, also sponsored by General Motors, took guests through the history of transportation. It closed in 1996 and Test Track opened in 1998. In 2012, it was reimagined for the first time, becoming Test Track 2.0. Watch our POV video of that version of the ride below.
This reimagining is focused more on the ride experience instead of the pre- and post-shows. Imagineers plan to bring “that spirit of optimism” from World of Motion to the reimagining.
