Disney Cruise Line will start running cruises full-time out of Galveston, Texas in 2027.

Disney Cruise Line in Galveston
Rodger Rees, Port of Galveston Director and CEO, said at a meeting of the Galveston City Council and Wharves Board, “The cruise business, as I mentioned, they’re expanding exponentially down here in [what] we call the Caribbean, the Western Caribbean. They’re putting a lot of money into that. Because of that, Disney is expanding to full-time here in Galveston starting in ’27.” (via Houston Chronicle)
The Disney Magic is currently the only Disney Cruise Line ship sailing out of Galveston, which has been a seasonal port for the company since 2012. When asked if the Magic would be the port’s full-time ship, Rees said he believes Disney will bring a bigger cruise ship to the port.

Bookings are currently open for Disney Cruise Line sailings out of Galveston from November 2025 through April 2026. Stops include Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Progreso, Mexico. Select sailings include Marvel Day at Sea. Some in November and December dates are “Very Merrytime” sailings with Christmas celebrations.
It will be easier for Disney Cruise Line to expand their home ports going forward, as they will soon have a total of eight ships sailing. The Disney Destiny will launch out of Port Everglades this November, followed by the Disney Adventure out of Singapore in December. The list of ships already on the seas includes the Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy, Wish, and Treasure.
